Nico Jackson's concerning xG stat: A cause for worry

Now that we've had a chance to reflect on Chelsea's loss to Nottingham Forest, one key moment stands out – Nico Jackson's missed opportunity to equalize from close range.

Surprisingly, his xG (expected goals) for the season is quite high at 3.65, but he has only managed to score one goal. To put this in perspective, he ranks third in the entire league for xG, trailing only Erling Haaland (who has 6 goals from 4.63 xG) and Bryan Mbeumo (with 4 goals from 4.1 xG).

It's clear that Jackson is getting the chances he needs, but he's struggling to convert them into goals. Perhaps as the season progresses, a bit of luck might improve these numbers. However, based on the games we've seen so far, it doesn't seem like he's going to become a prolific goal-scorer in the box.

While that's fine if he can create opportunities for his teammates and they capitalize on them, that hasn't been the case so far.
