Chelsea confident of signing 18-year-old striker from Santos: Romano

Chelsea are getting close to completing the signing of striker Deivid Washington from Santos next week, as per Fabrizio Romano.

"Chelsea remain confident to complete Deivid Washington deal next week," reports Romano. "The player wants Chelsea move and Santos green light is imminent."

He had earlier reported: "Deal now imminent after official bid submitted in the last hours for 2005 born Brazilian striker. Deivid agreed personal terms and wants Chelsea move — Strasbourg loan to follow."

The Blues are going to pay €20 million for the youngster, as reported by Globo. The striker has 8 goals for Santos at the U20 and senior level combined and adds to the array of wonder kids Todd Boehly is bringing to Chelsea.
