Sheffield United interested in Chelsea U21 captain Alfie Gilchrist

Sheffield United is showing interest in signing Chelsea's talented player, Alfie Gilchrist, on a permanent deal.

The 19-year-old has a chance to play in the Premier League next season, as he's currently training with Mauricio Pochettino's 30-man squad in the United States.

Alfie Gilchrist, who serves as Chelsea's Under-21s captain, recently showcased his skills in a 5-0 victory over Wrexham, playing the second half of the match. He was even asked to join the first-team squad from the academy on Monday.

Despite the interest from Sheffield United, Chelsea is eager to secure Gilchrist's future by offering him a new contract before finding him a suitable loan move.
