How much Chelsea owners paid for Strasbourg revealed - they can cover costs with just one player's sale

According to The Guardian, Chelsea ownership group BlueCo have paid around £65m to acquire a controlling stake at Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.

Coincidentally, the Blues are close to selling Kai Havertz to Arsenal for the same fee.

The Strasbourg takeover was confirmed on Thursday, with the Chelsea owners stating that they aim to 'further our presence in European football', meaning that it's only the start of their expansion.

Apart from France, Chelsea had previously looked at a number of clubs in Belgium, Portugal and South America - and there's every chance they will pursue those options again.
