Fabrizio Romano claims that Chelsea will announce their permanent in the coming days, not after the season.
The Blues are pushing to confirm their new manager before the season ends for three major reasons:
1. To plan with the new coach. The Blues wants a revamped blueprint for the coming season with their new gaffer before the curtain falls on this shambolic season.
2. To prepare for the transfer market. Chelsea wants their new coach to help identify what reinforcements need to be made and the right players to sign. There will be no panic buying as with the last two transfer windows.
3. To identify players to offload. Chelsea will be doing some housekeeping at the end of the season with up to 15 players expected to leave. Thus, they want their new coach to take a closer look at the players before the club can start offloading.
Romano adds that Mauricio Pochettino is the anointed one and Chelsea's big announcement is imminent.
The likes of Luis Enrique, Vincent Kompany and Julian Nagelsmann are no longer being considered for the top job.
