Unexpected candidate for Chelsea job named - he never managed in big European league (reliability: 5 stars)

Earlier this week, reports emerged saying that Chelsea had one more candidate on their shortlist apart from Mauricio Pochettino and Vincent Kompany.

Now, The Guardian claims that this previously unnamed candidate is Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

The Scottish giants are the first top-flight European club in the career of the 57-year-old Australian manager. Previously, he worked in his home country, as well as Japan.

He took over at Celtic in 2021 and brought the Scottish Premiership title back to the club in his first season. They are on course to repeat the achievement this year.

Despite his successes at Celtic, Postecoglou is seen as the underdog in this race, with Pochettino looking the most likely to assume the role at this stage.
