How Chelsea's goalkeeping plan might've changed in last month - explained (reliability: 4 stars)

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea believe that they might not need a new No.1 in the summer anymore.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has established himself as a credible No.1 option under Graham Potter and has performed well enough for the club to start prioritizing signing a backup.

Edouard Mendy who has rejected a few incentivised offers to extend his contract with Chelsea could leave.

The Blues have been previously linked with Brentford's No.1 David Raya, but he is unlikely to agree to come if he would only be a second-choice keeper.

Chelsea already have Gabriel Slonina who is rated among the most promising goalkeepers in his age group. However, the 18-year-old is not yet viewed as ready for the Premier League action as he has been playing for the Blues' youth teams.

Marcus Bettinelli, another keeper on Chelsea's books, has already had talks over his future. His stay as the third choice can't be ruled out even though his deal expires this summer.
