'I took my chance': Zakaria reacts to his outstanding Chelsea debut vs Dinamo Zagreb

"Very excited and very happy for my debut and my goal. We won too so I'm really happy," Denis Zakaria told BT Sport after his Chelsea debut and match-winning goal in the Dinamo Zagreb win.

"I think it was important for me to have a good game and help the team to win. The job is done today. The win is the most important thing.

"On my mind was only that I have to score. I hit it as hard as possible and it went in so I'm really happy."

"Very, very difficult I have to say," he added when asked what it was like to wait for his Chelsea debut for two months.

"I like to play and always want to play. When you have to see your team-mates from the bench it is not easy but I was always behind the team and was waiting for my chance. Today it came and I took my chance."

Zakaria started the game as one of the box-to-box players in the midfield three and managed to impress the fans both in defence and attack.

The Swiss player left the pitch limping but the hope is that the injury is not too serious so that he'll be in contention to face Arsenal this weekend.
