Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that getting a new left wing-back is something Chelsea consider in January after Ben Chilwell's season-ending injury - and that might turn to one of their players out on loan.
"We are looking into it because we now have a new situation with Ben Chilwell so of course we look into whether we can do something and what we can do," he said, as per Chelsea's official website.
"One of the possibilities and the players we know and that we love as a person is Emerson but we need to check.
"We are not into details. We are discussing and reflecting and this will go on for the coming days, maybe weeks."
Reports from France suggest that Lyon have refused to end Emerson's loan spell, and there's no break clause in the deal.
Other options Chelsea reportedly consider are Everton's Lucas Digne, Barcelona's Sergino Dest - who can play on either wing - and Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax.
