Petr Cech offers unique solution after penalty controversy in Leeds-West Ham league game

On Friday night, Leeds were allowed to re-take their penalty after it was adjudged that Fabianski had jumped off his line before making the save. Petr Cech, however, argues that this rule makes it next to impossible for a goalkeeper to succeed.

Writing on his Instagram account, Cech said: "How is any goalkeeper supposed to cover an area of 7m32cm by 2m44cm without any foot movement while the players shoot from 12 yards with average speed of 70 mph which takes the ball 0.35 seconds to cross the goal line is beyond my understanding...

"It is easy to criticise without giving any solution so here it is: CAN THE REFEREE JUST MAKE A SECOND LINE 4 FEET FROM THE GOAL LINE USING THE SPRAY AND THE PENALTY HAS TO BE SAVED IN BETWEEN?"

Cech, of course, famously helped Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties back in 2012 to help the Blues lift our first ever Champions League trophy.

After saving a penalty from Arjen Robben during extra-time, the keeper brilliantly saved 2 more during the penalty shootout.

What do you make of this solution, Blues fans? Do you think 'keepers have it too tough during penalties? Let us know in the comments below!
