6 Kepa alternatives for Chelsea to consider that won't cost an arm and a leg like Jan Oblak

Kepa Arrizabalaga has endured an error-ridden campaign at Chelsea with Frank Lampard seemingly losing all faith in the Spaniard's ability to be a long-term first-choice goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.

The former Athletic Bilbao man continues to struggle for consistency following his £71 million transfer, with the 25-year-old conceding 8% of all the goals scored against the Blues in the Premier League since 1992 (in just two years).

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid's shot-stopper Jan Oblak but the 27-year-old's release clause of £110 million means the Blues would have to spend an arm and a leg to bring him to Stamford Bridge. Instead, here are some cheaper options for Lampard to consider.

Dean Henderson

Dean Henderson, said to be available for £55 million, has emerged as one of the best goalkeeper in the Premier League this season. On loan from Manchester United, the Englishman made 97 saves in 36 league games for Sheffield United this season, keeping 13 clean sheets and conceded just 13 goals. Given the fact that the 23-year-old's Old Trafford contract expires in two years, he could force a move this summer.

Andre Onana

The Ajax star has already been linked with a summer move to Chelsea as the Cameroonian is looking to take the next step of his career. Andre Onana, who could cost about £30 million, is familiar to the Blues' fans with the 24-year-old impressing against Lampard's side in the Champions League this season. The goalkeeper kept 15 clean sheets in 38 games in all competition for the Eredivisie giants, conceding 38 goals.

Nick Pope

Sean Dyche's Burnley have enjoyed an incredible 2019/20 Premier League campaign, finishing in the top half of the table ahead of the likes of Everton, Newcastle United and West Ham. The Clarets' success is largely down to Nick Pope with the Englishman keeping 15 clean sheets in 38 games and registering an impressive tally of 1,000+ passes. Burnley are said to be open to selling the 28-year-old but it will take about £50 million.

Gianluigi Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma is out of contract at AC Milan next summer and talks over a new deal have stalled so far. Some Italian outlets have suggested that the Serie A outfit would be open to letting the 21-year-old leave for just £22 million - but Chelsea will still have to deal with the notorious super-agent Mino Raiola. This season, the goalkeeper conceded 45 goals in 39 games for the resurgent Milan side, keeping 14 clean sheets.

Emiliano Martinez

The memory of Emiliano Martinez's heroics against Chelsea in the FA Cup final is still fresh. The Argentine, thrust into Arsenal's first team following Bernd Leno's long-term injury, could continue his Cinderella story with a Stamford Bridge transfer at the age of 27. Although the shot-stopper has just 15 Premier League appearances to his name, he wouldn't be much of a gamble for Lampard at a transfer fee of £7 million.

Probability rating: 25%

Thomas Strakosha

Serie A enjoyed the closet title race in years this season, with Lazio among the teams challenging Juventus. Breaking into the first team in 2016, Thomas Strakosha has quickly established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Italy for the young and vibrant Lazio side, keeping 11 clean sheets in 38 league games this season. However, with Juve likely to continue their domestic hegemony, the 25-year-old could be on the move for a fee in the region of £18 million.
