'They lacked Sheffeld's intensity': Ian Wright blasts Lampard and Chelsea's defenders after loss

"I think that Christensen got a little bit roughed up today. You see them both [Sheffield United’s strikers] in the middle, Reece James gets dragged in, but look at the time [McBurnie] has in there. Frank will be very disappointed with that," Wright told BBC after Chelsea's 3-0 defeat against Sheffield United.

"That’s the way it was today. They lacked the same intensity that Sheffield United had and Sheffield just ran away with it. Toni Rudiger came on and wasn’t quite with the pace of the game, unfortunately, couldn’t sort his feet out [for the third goal]."

The Arsenal legend then spoke of Lampard's tactics but gave a positive spin to last night's debacle: "You can see it in Frank, Frank knows that he got it wrong today. He made changes at half-time.

"But I think you still have to look at it positively. What happened to him at the start of the season, the embargo, the kids he’s had to use, staying in the top four, best player gone in Hazard. So I think there’s still a lot to look forward to for them, he’s just got to get their attitudes right."

There's no defending Chelsea's performance last night - just like there was no defending done by the Blues on the pitch! Lampard wasn't too happy with the performance either but added that it was a lesson for him.

The race for the top 4 spots is heating up and this loss could be deadly for Chelsea's Champions League spots next season - however, the team needs to keep their heads up and go all out in the next match now.
