Mikel Arteta has decided to name Thomas Partey in his Arsenal starting XI for the big game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking about the midfielder's role in his team, the gaffer told Sky Sports: "He’s a really important player for us, we have missed him for many, many months. He looks in great shape. It’s his presence, his quality, his physicality, his experience.
"We are in a good moment, we are in rhythm. We had a few days to prepare the game. It’s a lot at stake, so we’re fully ready. Every game is a must-win, it’s been like this for many months now."
Partey impressed in Arsenal's recent 5-0 battering of Chelsea, which is why he has kept his starting role ahead of Jorginho.
Arteta will hope he can help sustain Spurs' counter-attacking threat and provide defensive cover to help the likes of Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard be more influential in the attack.
