Mikel Arteta: Kai Havertz was ill before facing Spurs

Mikel Arteta made the stunning revelation that Kai Havertz was actually ill before facing Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.

The Arsenal attacker put up a Man of the Match performance, playing a part in both goals.

He assisted Bukayo Saka's goal before adding another one to put the Gunners 3-0 ahead; Cristian Romero supplied the first one through an own goal.

Havertz was proactive throughout the 3-2 win and not many would have guessed he's ill.

Arteta told reporters after the game: "He [Havertz] was sensational in every department today.

"He was ill before the match and still he put the performance that he put in. I thought he was unbelievable today."
