Is Kai Havertz a natural striker now? Mikel Arteta shares honest opinion

Kai Havertz once again produced a stunning performance leading the line for Arsenal in the 3-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.

He scored Arsenal's second goal as the Gunners completely shut out Brighton at the Amex - which is no easy feat.

After the game, Mikel Arteta was asked if Havertz, who has mostly played as a midfielder or a winger, is actually better off as a central striker.

Arteta smiled and replied: "A lot of the time players decide where they have to play, and we can have certain ideas, but then you see certain relationships and some things flow.

"And when it flows, you have to let it go, and I think Kai at the moment is flowing and he’s feeling really comfortable there.

"The rest of the team is comfortable with him there and things happen naturally."

Harnessing Havertz's goalscoring skills up top has been a gamble that's paid off handsomely. He now has 10 goals and five assists across competitions this season.

So far, there has been nothing to suggest Arteta needs to change Havertz's position. Like the boss says, when things flow we must let it flow.
