Kai Havertz – 9
Havertz was a thorn for the Brighton backline with his clever link-up play and movement. Opened up space for his teammates with his passes and also got in right areas to disrupt the opposition's backline. Scored a clinical goal from close range, reaching his career-high best Premier League goal return. Then capped off an excellent performance with a nice assist for Trossard’s goal.
Bukayo Saka – 8
Saka had a triumphant return to action for Arsenal and recovered strongly from a shaky start. Scored a superb penalty to help Arsenal get breathing room and was a troublemaker on the right wing, creating a number of key scoring chances.
Gabriel Magalhaes – 7.5
Gabriel continued his fantastic run of form for the Gunners, neutralizing Brighton’s threat with his sturdy defensive work. Was almost always in the right place at the right time, making six clearances and six possession recoveries in a rock-solid effort.
William Saliba – 7.5
Saliba was able to match his centre-back partner’s effort by being composed and assertive at the back. Used his physicality to cause a lot of trouble, and came up with key challenges whenever required. Made six possession recoveries and won 2/2 aerial duels.
Jorginho – 7
Jorginho had a bit of a shaky first half, but improved his performance as the game went on. Made a great run to help set up Havertz’s goal and also completed 49/54 passes, helping Arsenal maintain a nice tempo in midfield and keep Brighton frustrated.
Zinchenko was arguably the only blip in what was otherwise an excellent team performance. He struggled to impose his authority on the left, not being able to make a tackle or interception, winning just 1/3 duels. Couldn’t really create much going forward either.
