Aaron Ramsdale remains sidelined on the bench for Arsenal after seeing David Raya make the goalkeeper role his own this season.
Now, as per the Daily Mail, Newcastle United have revived their interest in potentially signing the Englishman in the summer transfer window.
The Magpies are hoping to recruit a new younger goalkeeper to compete with Nick Pope, while Ramsdale is assessing his options for the future.
Incidentally, Mikel Arteta was actually asked about these rumours ahead of the Luton Town match and responded: “You know I’m not going to comment on those things. There is a big reality that Aaron is here (next season) because he’s our player and he’s got a contract.”
While Ramsdale is indeed under a contract that expires in 2026, but he might personally push for a move away from Arsenal to save his career. The Englishman has only made 11 appearances for Arsenal this season, keeping three clean sheets and conceding 12 goals.
