Fabrizio Romano names key person to David Raya transfer — it's not Arteta or Edu

David Raya has established himself as a key player at Arsenal since joining on loan last year, replacing Aaron Ramsdale as the first-choice goalkeeper.

According to Fabrizio Romano, nothing can stop the Gunners from making the deal permanent for a fee £27 million at the end of the 2023/24 season.

While both Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar have been credited for bringing in Raya from Brentford, another Emirates employee is responsible for the deal.

Apparently, it was goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana who pushed for Arsenal to sign the 28-year-old after working with him during their time at Brentford.
