Answered: Should Odegaard's disallowed goal v Porto have stood?

On Tuesday, Martin Odegaard thought he had given Arsenal the lead against FC Porto. However, the goal was ruled out by the referee.

Should it have stood? Well, replays showed that Kai Havertz had fouled Pepe in the build-up to the goal.

The forward had entered a 50/50 with the defender and goalkeeper Diogo Costa but gained an advantage with a slight pull of Pepe's shirt.

The ball eventually fell to the on-rushing Odegaard, but referee Clement Turpin rewarded Porto with a free-kick. A brief VAR check showed no reason to reverse the on-field decision.

On another day, the goal could have stood but Turpin already made his decision.
