Mykhailo Mudryk was 'devastated' when Arsenal move collapsed last summer

According to The Athletic, Mykhailo Mudryk had his heart set on joining Arsenal last summer.

As fate would have it, he ended up joining Chelsea for an eye-watering £88 million. He's barely come good for the Blues since then, scoring just four goals all season so far.

The Athletic understands Mudryk was 'devastated' when his transfer to the Emirates didn't pan out.

Interestingly, he's been re-linked with Arsenal again ahead of the summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta signed Leandro Trossard instead of Mudryk and the former has become a reliable performer at the Emirates.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal go back in to sign Mudryk, who could be available for a lower fee after struggling to settle in.
