Gabriel Jesus has been out of action since January due to a recurrent knee issue but it looks like he could be sidelined for much longer.
Although the Arsenal forward was nearing recovery, Mikel Arteta has confirmed Jesus has picked up another reaction again.
Speaking to reporters before the Newcastle United game, Arteta explained, quoted by 90Min: "We couldn’t resolve that as quickly as we wanted and he [Jesus] had a small reaction in training again.
"We didn’t want to take any more risks because he’s been out for quite a while and he’s a player that we need at his best and we decided to give him a few more days."
Jesus underwent surgery on the same knee in the past, meaning this could become real serious if not handled with care.
While Jesus recovers, Leandro Trossard is doing a great job up top. However, the Gunners desperately need a new striker once the summer transfer window rolls up.
Jesus is great when he plays, his work-rate off the ball is perhaps second to none. His poor injury record though throws a monkey wrench into Arsenal's plans.
