'Doesn't play enough': Porto boss wants Arteta to start one Arsenal player more often

FC Porto boss Sergio Conceicao has singled out Jakub Kiwior for praise and believes he should start more games for Arsenal.

Discussing the Gunners' squad depth ahead of the Champions League Round of 16 first-leg tie, Conceicao told Record: "The squad is filled with different solutions.

"[Leandro] Trossard has played and scored goals, with Gabriel Jesus out.

"[Jakub] Kiwior, who for me is a starter, doesn’t play, [Oleksandr] Zinchenko plays, they change goalkeepers, that is..

"There is a lot of quality, there is a lot of quality solutions."

Indeed, Kiwior has earned his plaudits this season. Initially signed to compete with Gabriel Magalhaes for the left-sided centre-back role, Kiwior spent most of his time on the bench due to the latter's solid performances.

However, with the absence of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Zinchenko due to injuries, Kiwior was handed a start at left-back and he's been impressive.

Kiwior started the last two games as left-back, having first come on as a substitute against Liverpool. He's now primed to retain his spot for the all-important game with Porto later this Wednesday.
