Arsenal have recalled Marquinhos from his loan move to Ligue 1 side Nantes. The 20-year-old will soon join up with Brazil's under-23 team for their 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.
But how good was he in France? Well, Marquinhos’ time there was at best underwhelming. He started just one game and featured six times from the bench, registering no goal and one assist.
Marquinhos was allowed to play in the Pan-American Games with Brazil, from October 20 to November 5. He returned to Nantes with an injury and things have not been the same afterwards.
Marquinhos joined Arsenal from Sao Paulo 18 months ago. He made six appearances for the Gunners before being loaned out to Norwich City for the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.
He made little impression with the Canaries and unfortunately for the player. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the Brazilian who still has a long-term deal with the club.
