'I want to play more': Reiss Nelson unhappy with Arteta over lack of minutes

Reiss Nelson has had a tough time at Arsenal this season, spending most of his time on the sidelines.

Arsenal are also struggling, having lost three consecutive games - including the FA Cup clash against Liverpool.

That means the Gunners are out of the competition and that compounds Mikel Arteta's troubles.

To have a talented player like Nelson unhappy at the club is the last thing he needs, especially as Arsenal may not sign anyone this winter.

Quoted by the Evening Standard, Nelson said: "Yeah. I have said this before, but Arsenal is my club since I was eight years old. Of course, I want to be playing much more than I am right now.

"It’s good to be coming off the bench, but I want to be starting. I feel like I am proving myself every day in training, so with this momentum I want to go on and keep playing more.

"I signed my contract, I am here now and I have just got to prove to the boss that I deserve more minutes.

"Like I said, when I get chances to play I can prove myself and show everyone what I can do."

Nelson is tied to Arsenal till 2027 but he may leave sooner if his playing needs remain unfulfilled.
