Speaking on talkSPORT radio, former Liverpool and Wales striker Dean Saunders said: "I look at Arsenal, you know, Gabriel Martinelli on the left, Bukayo Saka on the right, Gabriel Jesus down the middle.
"Declan Rice sitting, Kai Havertz joining in with Martinelli down the left channel making runs. For me, Havertz is a bit like Frank Lampard, like arriving in the box late, he can't play with his back to goal.
"He's not as good as Lampard when it comes to scoring goals. But in that position where Granit Xhaka played, making runs, getting into the box, joining in and finding gaps, I think he will do well."
Havertz has failed to make an impression so far at Chelsea during his three-year in the Premier League but Mikel Arteta believes in the German's ability.
It remains to be seen what the Spaniard has planned for the 24-year-old who can operate in a wide variety of positions across both midfield and attack.
