Fan claims Arteta has his Haaland at Arsenal — many are confused by the player he named

A debate around Arsenal's squad is raging on social media as the Gunners get ready to take on Manchester City next season.

One Emirates supporters — who goes by the name AI — has been comparing the two squads and breaking down the Gunners' summer transfer business.

He wrote: "I think the only profile City have that Arsenal don't really have is Nathan Ake. Bernardo Silva, too, I think. Kyle Walker, as well. Rest of it, Arsenal have in some way, more or less."

When pressed on which Arsenal player has a similar profile to Erling Haaland, AI replied: "Kai Havertz." It is an interesting (to say the least) claim since the German has scored just nine goals last season compared to Haaland's 52.

It will be up to Mikel Arteta to get the best out of Havertz next season but he's highly unlikely to play as a striker at Arsenal. In fact, the 24-year-old best role seems to be behind the no.9 or even deeper in midfield, somewhere between the no.8 and the no.10 position.

Here's what other fans think about the claim:

Ryan: "Probably the worst take I've ever read."

Umir: "They execute their roles differently. Haaland's profile manifests differently given his freakish athleticism, fact he's incredibly quick in behind, one of the best finishers in the world. Havertz is different in all of those ways."

Coach Louis: "No. Just no. He [Havertz] is not playing striker."
