Arsenal expect Reiss Nelson to put pen to paper on a new long-term contract 'this week', according to Fabrizio Romano.

The winger will commit to a four-year deal at the Emirates with the Gunners also retaining an option of extending it for another season.

Negotiations with the 23-year-old, who is now in the last weeks of his contract, went down to the wire over his future role at the club under Mikel Arteta.

However, Nelson's priority was always to stay at Arsenal and continue working under the Spanish manager. He also received offers from English, Italian and French clubs.
