Safest hands in Prem: Bernd Leno only Gunner in WhoScored's team of the season

WhoScored have compiled the best team of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign. Four men from Liverpool are included as Jurgen Klopp's men are the champions this season but one Arsenal player has made the cut.

Interestingly, it's not Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang despite his impressive goal-scoring record and statistically-proven impact on the team's results. It's Bernd Leno.

The shot-stopper made 3.8 saves per 90 minutes and received a 6.88 average rating, the best among all Prem keepers who played more than 30 games.

Here is how the team looks like:

While Emi Martinez is ineligible for the WhoScored's team of the season because he made 8 starts, the Argentine outperforms Leno in all key metrics.

It means that we have two really good shot-stoppers in the squad and Mikel Arteta will have a lot of headaches next season when having to pick one of them for the starting spot.

While Anthony Martial and Raul Jimenez are undoubtedly good forwards, we can't understand why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has not been included from the squad. It's true that the Gabonese lost the Golden Foot award to Jamie Vardy but the Leicester striker is also left out from the best XI.

Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka could also be in with a shout for the best team of the season but neither of them made 30 starts, with the former captain missing out by just one game.

Any other Gunners who should have made it to the best Prem XI? Tell us in the comments or through blogs!
