Arteta: Winning FA Cup would boost transfer campaign

Speaking after the victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final, Mikel Arteta has suggested Arsenal will be able to bolster their squad if they get into the Europa League.

"Listen, we have had a lot of conversations and we always agreed with the plan that we have in place, and the current vision is very clear. It’s about the possibilities that we are going to have and at the moment we have some uncertainties," he said as quoted by the club's official website.

"The way we finish the season, if we are in Europe or we win it [the FA Cup], it will obviously help because financially we will be stronger and that’s why we have to be a little bit patient."

At the moment, Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid, reported fee €50m) and Dani Ceballos (Real Madrid, reported fee €20-25m) are said to be Arsenal's main targets for the summer.

Apart from them, the Gunners are often linked with defensive reinforcements. OGC Nice centre-back Malang Sarr has recently emerged on Arsenal's radars (Marca).

The likes of Unai Nunez (Diario AS) and Dayot Upamecano (Tuttosport) have also been linked with a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal are also supposedly keen on free agent Ryan Fraser and Chelsea man Willian, whose contract expires this summer, although these rumours have calmed down in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, the Italian press continues to insist the Gunners are hot on Justin Kluivert's trail.

The transfer window will be open from July 27 to October 5. It will be followed by a short domestic window, mainly designed for loan deals.
