Wilshere on Wenger: 'He told me to express myself and just play'

"He gave me freedom," Jack Wilshere said of Arsene Wenger during a Q&A session as cited by Metro.

"He let me play how I wanted to play. Obviously there was some tactical stuff but in terms of me on the ball… he told me to express myself and just play."

Wilshere was then asked to name his best team-mate.

"It’s tough, I played with some good players. Probably Cesc [Fabregas] or Wazza [Wayne Rooney]," added the former Arsenal man.

Wilshere's career at the Emirates did not go the right way due to injuries. In 2018, he left Arsenal for West Ham but his injury hell continued there as well.

This season, the 28-year-old has made only 6 Premier League appearances.
