Tierney says Bellerin and Mavropanos were his first friends at Arsenal due to one thing they shared: 'We were all injured together at the same time'

Kieran Tierney says that Hector Bellerin and Dinos Mavropanos were his first friends at the Emirates because the trio had a common denominator: they all were injured in August.

"The first two people I became friends with were Hector and Dinos as when I first came in my first sessions I was walking out with them and they were the first people I really spoke with," the left-back said during the Reddit AMA as cited by the club's official website.

"We were all injured together at the same time so that's why they were the first people I really spoke to. They really helped me a lot to settle in."

Learn what happened on Kieran's first day at the club:

Bellerin returned to full training in September after spending more than eight months on the sidelines. The Spaniard's displays have been quite worrying this season. It is believed that the injury hampers his performances as he 'plays with discomfort'.

Speaking of Mavropanos, the defender had a groin strain which kept him out from the pitch for almost four months. Having failed to establish himself as a first-team player after coming back from the injury, the Greek defender was sent on loan to Nurnberg in January.

Tierney, who arrived injured in August, recovered in September and made 11 appearances for Arsenal before December when he dislocated his shoulder during the West Ham clash. It took three months for the Scotland international to recover.
