On Pogba, Martial, Cavani, Ighalo, Van de Beek: 5 things I wanted to say
- On Martial
The guy's not in top form and seems low on confidence. This happens and thankfully we have a player on the bench to replace him with.
I've lately read quite a bunch of opinions, takes like sell him, get rid, so on. My question is: do you sell and get rid whenever a player has a bad streak? Hmm.
- On Cavani
What a fantastic player. I was absolutely appalled by his signing but the last two transfer windows sorta prove the later we start to act, the better!
Even a blind man can see his silky movement, how he puts defenders in a predicament and sacrifices himself for the team. Gracias, negrito!
- On Ighalo
Glad he's been here because the guy is basically all of us here but with 100x more talent in football. That said, he's obviously not good enough – he doesn't even start against Watford.
I read some opinions here about 'cruel' Ole treating Odion bad. I don't get it. So we're no longer a charity nostalgia FC and some fans rue it? They say every trophy matters (some were losing their shit here because of the Carabao Cup) but want the coach to play clearly inferior players?
I say 'clearly' because no sane coach will pick bad players and no fan knows even a fraction of what coaches know and coaches are people who see and assess these players 5-7 times a week. So get a grip.
- On Pogba
I am 100% convinced Paul Pogba needs to go at the end of the season. He obviously needs different things and so do we.
That said, while he's here, I'll fiercely support him, 100%. When he's on the pitch, I want him to perform and win us games (like yesterday).
Some fans like to play politics and throw agendas. My agenda, policy and bias are simple: support Man United, the coaches and the players. The rest is immaterial.
- On Van de Beek
Donny has played just 852 mins for United (249 in the league). I'm convinced his time will come. There's a fantastic player there that needs time and if anything, I trust Ole to prepare him – even if it takes a year.
Luka Modric was named the worst signing in La Liga in 2012. Ricardo Carvalho, Heung-Min Son, Didier Drogba, Thierry Henry took time to adapt. David De Gea, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra – it took them time to settle. And when they did...
You have to realise that players of Bruno-like impact are extremely rare. You also have to realise there's Pogba and Bruno starting ahead. Also that Van de Beek is not a holding midfielder so stop these bloody stupid suggestions of playing Donny instead of McTominay or Fred.
I look at it this way: we have a fantastic player who, I'm sure, will make it here. For now, he is a bench player for an extremely competitive team in the league.
A year ago, we had Andreas Pereira starting with Jesse Lingard waiting to come on in a team that was only truly competitive in cups. This is a process. This is how teams get built. This is, to quote a coach I absolutely love despite what happened, football heritage and how you change it.
Thank you.

100% agree, people seem to not understand the word support, I wrote a similar blog talking about the managers, I hated Moyes being manager. Never wanted Lvg or Jose, the football was awful, hard to enjoy, but every week I watched, I supported, I had opinions, but I didn't rant and call for any of them to be sacked. We are United, we unite, we support everyone who's part of the team, we share the success, but we also share any pain
true words of a red spirit , i get bashing for defending martial when i try to tell others imagine if you were in a job and you know you have the ability to do the job but u lack confidence and when you gain a bit of confidence and suffer a fall back you are the worse. As I've said before his career choice and his money dont make him any less human, he probably reads a lot of negative comments about him and finding it hard to climb out the hole he is in. fans like us are the true reds of manchester
Wow 👏🏼 what an absolute brilliant read ... Your assessment on the players are exceptional. Kudos mate 🙌🏼
cheers mate!
Thing is we're all supporters of our great club and want. To win all the time every time we have been in the. Wilderness for a few years but I sense and believe ole is starting to turn things. Around with the ex players on the coaching staff it's got a feeling of the old man utd we love and support for evermore
