Happy St George's Day, my he protect Chelsea, our Players & Pochettino
PEOPLE TURNED TO ST GEORGE FOR PROTECTION
During the Middle Ages, people believed that St George was one of the'Fourteen Holy Helpers'– a group of saints who legend claimed could help during epidemic diseases, we can still rely on good old St George to protect our lads.
St George's protection was invoked against severalnasty diseases, many fatal and with infectious causes, including the Plague and leprosy, and in the last season of other opponents in the EPL.
From around 1100, St George's help was also sought toprotect the English army.
In Shakespeare'sHenry V, the eponymous hero calls on the saint during his battle cry at the Battle of Harfleur in the famous 'Once more unto the breach, dear friends' speech, crying 'God for Harry! England, and St. George!'
And so it is that on this very English day of celebration I call upon the old myths & legend of St George to protect all of our Blues Family, give the whole team the strength and bravery to firstly deal with Arsenal in the way St George dealt with the legendary dragon 🐉
let's then fast forward to capture the remaining opponents we have and climb the ladder to conquer the table and be able to do battle against all of Europe next season.
Pochettino has done well to get us this far with two Wembley appearances and a real opportunity of finishing higher than our current 9th position.
