Time for a Change at Liverpool? My two cents thought.
In recent weeks, the once unstoppable Mohamed Salah has shown signs of decline, sparking discussions about his future role at Liverpool. As he approaches what many believe to be the twilight years of his career, it's worth considering whether age is finally catching up with our beloved Egyptian king.
Salah, known for his speed, agility, and sharp passing, seems to be missing his usual spark on the field. This dip in form has led to Liverpool's struggles against top teams while having minimal impact on games we should clearly be winning. I think the next manager should perhaps take bold steps, much like Luciano Spalletti did with Francesco Totti at Roma, or as seen with other legends such as Xavi, Iniesta, and Wayne Rooney. These iconic players were transitioned into supporting roles or were occasionally benched to maintain team dynamics and performance.
I think the forthcoming managerial changes at Liverpool present an opportunity to reevaluate key positions and team strategy. The new manager must not shy away from making tough decisions, including potentially benching Salah and other key players if their performance does not improve. Football is a team sport, and no individual, regardless of their past achievements and reputation, should be above the team's strategic needs.
History has shown that even the greatest players have to adjust their roles as they age. Luciano Spalletti made a controversial yet ultimately respected decision by benching Totti, recognizing the need to integrate younger, more dynamic players into the lineup. Similarly, Xavi and Iniesta saw reduced playing time at Barcelona as fresher legs took center stage, allowing the team to evolve tactically.
Salah must recognize that he may no longer be the relentless threat he once was. Adapting to a different role, possibly off the bench or in less critical matches, could be beneficial for both him and the team. This would not only extend his career but also help in mentoring younger talents who could fill his big shoes.
If Liverpool receives a compelling offer during the summer transfer window, they should consider selling Salah to reinvest in new talent. Fresh faces can bring the energy and hunger needed to revive Liverpool’s fortunes, emulating the fierce force that characterized Salah’s early days at the club.
The essence of football lies in continuous evolution and adaptation. Liverpool has a critical decision to make regarding Salah's role in the team. By potentially transitioning Salah to a supporting role and focusing on nurturing young talent, Liverpool can aim to return to its former glory and compete effectively with the heavyweights of the football world. Sometimes, the hardest decisions are the most necessary, and for Liverpool, this might mean redefining the future of one of their greatest players. Salah will always be our legendary king and nothing will ever change that!

This is very weird to my ears !! Instead of supporting Salah in what might be a hard time for him .. you guys are saying a farewell to him in a very bad way !! This is not loyal !!! and decent attitude !!
An honest realistic look at the Mo situation now and for the future MadaLFC. One thing that has always been missing in our squad during the klopp era is a right winger to either allow Mo some rest or even keep him on his toes. Sure there's been players that can play there Diaz Elliot etc but no outright replacement or competition.... that ment Mo plays if fit regardless of fatigue or form neither of which is good for performance level.. so interesting time ahead regarding Mos future at LFC... Good blog Madalfc
I agree with you. It’s clear that our squad has lacked a dedicated right winger to provide rest and competition for Mo, which isn't ideal for maintaining high performance levels due to fatigue or form. As for Elliot he is putting in a lot of effort and showing potential, he might not be the ideal solution to fill that right-wing void. His skills are commendable, but perhaps not what we would expect from a truly lethal right winger. It’s certainly an interesting time ahead. Thank you mate. YNWA
l think it's time to reinforce Mo has lost his sharpness after his return from Afcon
Only thing with that is. have you seen Mo chuck his dummy out the pram when he gets subbed, god knows if he actually had to sit on bench for a few games, I see tantrums galore
Very obvious .. Salah made a mistake by stying in Liverpool .. the fans cannot support their star player when he needs support !!! as everybody was waiting to see a slight decline is his form to show their disrespect to their best player that ever touches Anfield in the last decade (at least) .. Salah : just kiss Liverpool fans 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
