Battle for 5th place cold be intense, who would you root for?
So, Man City are going to find out the verdict on their European ban in July and if the ban stands, we could see quite a dog fight for the 5th place in the table because it will be grant access to the Champions League.
As much as I want Man City to be punished for cheating, I hate the idea of United going to Europe's biggest club competition even more.
Fortunately for me, there are six teams between United and Everton which can claim the 5th spot:
- Wolverhampton Wanderers - 43 pts, 9 games left to play
- Sheffield United - 43 pts, 10 games left to play
- Tottenham Hotspur - 41 pts, 9 games left to play
- Arsenal - 40 pts, 10 games left to play
- Burnley - 39 pts, 9 games left to play
- Crystal Palace - 39 pts, 9 games left to play
The title is all but ours and even if the unthinkable happened (no way!) we'd still be guaranteed a place in the top four. So, I ask you guys, who would you want to see at the 5th place?
I'm going to start with myself and pick the Blades: a team with history, a team which has been unbeaten in PL games against all sides mentioned in the list above. And I just like their manager Chris Wilder who seems to be a nice guy.
I'm not alone, by the way, as Jurgen Klopp loves the Blades, too. Here is what he said after the 2-0 home win against Sheffield Utd: "I didn't know Chris Wilder before we played Sheffield United and now I follow Sheffield United, not only when we play them but for different reasons."
"Before the game, I watched a story about where they have come from and it is a wonderful story, an amazing story, and I have so much admiration for them."
And who would you root for and why? Let me know in the comments or write your own piece here, on the blog platform!

Sheffield United. Wolves have real potential and, whilst we admire their football now, would we do so if they become a serious contender? Would love to see spurs and manure miss out as their entire business models rely on qualification. Palace? Sorry woy, but no
I'm with you on those scummy fucks getting in Europe. If I had my way, they'd be relegated to making tea. It would be Wolves for me, i like their style of football as its very similar to ours (was, as we have seemed to change lately) as its very attack based. Nice to watch. And their coach is cool, you can't not like Nuno. I reckon they could surprise a lot of people in Europe.
Ma Ca, yeah, tbh I was literally splitting between Wolves and Blades but I felt someone would choose Wolves anyway so I decided to go with Sheffield Utd 😊
Community admin, I think Wolves would have a better chance in Europe, so I'm sticking with them 😝😂 And most importantly the quicker City get a ban the better. Will we get the title for 14 then too? 😱🤔
rooting for Manchester United to finish six as usual
