The New Liverpool
I am not writing this to discuss all that need to be brought in. Refer to Christians "Transfer Window" article to see those he recommends bringing in because I almost totally agree. This is to discuss who should be sold as I believe a bigger revamp is in order.
The following is my list of players Liverpool should cash in on and pump the funds back in to build a strong younger squad.
Mo Salah-$$$
Andy Robertson-$ maybe $$
Diaz-$$ maybe $$$ (only if he wants to go)
Trent Alexander-Arnold- $$$ watch the Everton game... the kid has drunk the coollaid and let the talk of him being the best get to his head. Now he's too cool for Liverpools intense play
Konate- $$ maybe $$$ Same reasons as Christian and same replacement. He's not healthy enough.
Now for changes in style for those that remain.
Up Front-Gakpo needs to be playing LW. If Diaz goes I would like to see Liverpool get an ice cold killer at CF and Nunez and Gakpo have to fight for LW and be a backup CF to whoever we get and Jota.
Midfield- I just want to see if there is a change to the set up in the Midfield with a new coach. End of the day I believe we have the best Midfield and solid depth. Play the hot hand and that's the name of the game. Not the big names or price tags that go with the players. Just play the hot hand till it's no longer hot and put the next one up in.
Defense- Quansah is good enough and now experienced enough we should see a lot more of him next season. Gomez should be challenging and getting starts at CB and rotating at RB with our new star RB Conor Bradley. (Klopp has been picking big names not the right names the past few games and it was felt)
Two players I would add to Christians list to bring in.
Antonee Robinson 26- Fullham LB- His stats are off the chart good and he is as cool as it gets in that LB position. I would say go out and get him and we will not feel a hole as Robertson goes. It will actually be better than we have had at LB in 2 years if I'm honest.
Ben Godfrey 26-Everton RB,CB,LB- Now I know some will say "no way, not someone from Everton." Go watch the Everton game where we just got beat. You will see why I like him and have for a while. He won't come with a large price tag and can be a slot fill in for every position in our back line. In other words, say goodbye to the never ending worry about depth on defense. He plugs that worry well and who knows how much more he can develop learning from VVD.
I love our Liverpool and the players I am suggesting we cash in on. Every one of them have been so good and given us the gift of Liverpool being at the top. They just can't carry that weight anymore and wish them the best. On to a new coach and a revived Liverpool run at the top.
